The description
This product is the new version of the Starbucks classic Caramel Frappuccino. A creamy, coffee‑based Frappuccino blended with vanilla bean syrup, topped with whipped cream and rich caramel sauce.
The good
The new Caramel Frappuccino at Starbucks Coffee uses a new caramel sauce and vanilla bean-flavored syrup. This is as part of their "Why Not Coffee?" campaign which marks 30 years of Starbucks in Japan. You will find an article on City-cost about Starbucks' "Why Not Coffee?" Caramel Frappuccino remains my personal favorite drink at Starbucks Coffee. I don't go to Starbucks very often, but over the years I have tried a few different ones. But I'll always come back to the caramel frappuccino! I find it just sweet, smooth, and comforting enough to purchase over and over again.
The not so good
The "new" version doesn't taste any different to me than the last version. But as I said above, I don't go to Starbucks Coffee that often. Sometimes it can be a year between visits. So, it would be very hard for someone like me to discern the difference in taste. Supposedly, the new version has a stronger vanilla aroma - again, that went unnoticed by me. Like all of Starbucks drinks - it's not cheap, but I do find the price fair enough. Especially when I have it in store and can spend two hours over the drink without any pressure to leave. A Starbucks drink usually does last me a couple of hours, because they are often too sweet to knock back.
