Why I buy my pasta sauces in Gyomu

I do not have a Gyomu supermarket within walking or cycling distance of me, so about once or twice a month I go out of my way to visit one. The main reason is for their pasta sauces, particularly the Di Vita brand.

The reason why I prefer to buy my pasta sauces in Gyomu supermarket is twofold: one, price and two, size. The pasta sauces available in Gyomu are so much more affordable than the pasta sauces available in my local (Beisia) supermarket. There are a few in Beisia that work out almost as cheap, but that is because the flavor has been toned down. Di Vita, on the other hand, delivers surprisingly good flavor for such an affordable option. Moreover, it is a product of Italy.

In addition, the size of the sauces at Gyomu are practical. They offer jars that are larger than 600 grams, almost double the average size at my local Beisai supermarket. When I get pasta sauce at my local supermarket I have to buy two jars, because they are designed for a serving of two to three people. The 680 gram jars I buy at Gyomu are ideal for my family of six. I also love that because the jars are larger, the neck of the jar is also wider and it's much easier to get the sauce out of the jar as a result.

Where do you buy your pasta sauces? Have you ever seen the "Di Vita" brand in a supermarket other than Gyomu. And / or do you know another brand like "Di Vita" that offers great taste at an economical price in a large size?

I haven't bought prepared pasta sauce in ages. Nearly every pasta sauce I make is made from scratch. My faves are tomato-based, loaded with veggies and herbs, pretty flavourful. But I must admit, I can only produce and store about four servings at a time.

@TonetoEdo what amazing skills to have. Even my Mom, who is one of the best cooks (and bakers) I ever knew, cheated on pasta sauce! She made most things from scratch before she went back to work outside the home, but pasta sauce she usually bought! Homemade pasta sauce is well out of my repertoire!
