A Trifecta of Summer Hazards for Bare Arms in Japan

Today, and September 1st annually, is Smoking Area Signage Day 喫煙所サイネージの日 in Japan. Interestingly it was established by a video-based advertising company to increase the awareness of their smoking-area signage media "The Smoking Room Vision Break." Apparently, their smoking‑area signage system has been installed in over 160 office facilities (230 screens) across major areas in principle cities.

But once I heard the term "Smoking Area Signage Day" all I could think about it is the over-the-top often ludicrous signage they have in smoking areas around Japan. Signs that were initially developed to discourage people from smoking as they walked. A sample of one in the photo in this post:

Short‑sleeve season is still with us, so when you’re out and about with bare arms, remember the summer trio of hazards: sunburn, mosquitos ... and cigarettes!
