A new anniversary in 2026: Mary's Mille-Feuille Day

Chocolate maker Mary Chocolate has introduced a new commemorative day in Japan: Mary's Mille-Feuille Day メリーのミルフィーユの日 to be observed annually on October 8th. The anniversary is officially recognized by the Japan Anniversary Association and was established to celebrate the company's popular mille-feuille pastry confection.
Mary's mille-feuille first appeared in October 2011 and has become one of the company's signature products. The layered pastry combines crisp baked pastry, cream filling, and a coating of chocolate, creating a texture that balances light crunch with sweetness. According to the company, cumulative shipments have exceeded 250 million pieces since its launch.
To mark the new anniversary, Mary Chocolate released a limited-edition "Mille-Feuille Happy Bag" featuring a selection of regular, seasonal, and regional flavours. The company also launched a social media campaign offering participants the chance to win an oversized mille-feuille approximately 23 times larger than the standard version.
