I tend to go for egg sandwiches when picking up a sandwich on the go at a convenience store. All of the convenience stores offer some type of egg sandwich. I like this one at 7-Eleven because there are three sandwiches in the pack, one of which is a pork ham, mayo and lettuce sandwich. It is nice to have a contrasting texture and taste as well as the variety. With two egg and one ham sandwich it is relatively filling, for just a light lunch. If you want something more substantial you might not find this filling enough. All the sandwiches are crustless, which I have grown to prefer living in Japan for so long.

At 330 yen (before tax) it is not exactly cheap, especially considering how thin and flimsy the bread is. However, I am not complaining as in the greater scale of things it is not a bad price either. I do miss the days when you could get a sandwich for less than 300 yen! Depending on personal preference, the bread can also seem overly soft, lacking the texture and heartiness of a bakery-style sandwich. I don't particularly like Japanese ham in general, and I especially don't care for the ham in this sandwich. Fortunately, the lettuce does a good job of softening its flavor. Overall, this triple sandwich is a solid choice and I will buy it again in the future too.
