I was surprised to see a burger on the Kura Sushi menu and I just had to try it as it is a limited-time offering for Tsukimi. Moreover, I was pleasantly surprised by the Kura Tsukimi Burger. While it is definitely smaller than a typical fast-food burger, the compact size actually works well when you're already planning to eat sushi. The patty is actually made out of beef, pork and chicken, which tastes surprisingly good and was easier on my stomach than just pork. The poached egg gave it that 'Tsukimi' feel and it works really well with the patty and crispy bacon. The bun was particularly nice too.

The biggest drawback of the Kura Tsukimi Burger is its size. It is tiny - more like a slider than a burger. Considering that McDonald's Tsukimi Burger is a similar price, yet twice the size, Kura Sushi's Tsukimi Burger felt a bit of a rip off. However, it was surprisingly filling and it is particularly delicious, but not unique as you can get TSukimi burger pretty much anywhere these days it seems! Because the burger is designed as a side item rather than a meal on its own, anyone expecting a substantial autumn indulgence could end up disappointed. And to be perfectly honest - sushi and burgers don't really go well together!
