Hiragata Shrine

Shrine close to Nagaoka Station

Hiragata Shrine is located a short walk from Nagaoka Station, and it offers some peace and tranquility from the urban area. Some of the shrine's highlights include a larger than average torii arch, plus sakura and wisteria during the spring months. There's also a small park with some play equipment right by the shrine if you have young children. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit here, but if you're in the area anyway and have time to kill before a train it's not a bad spot to check out.
