A onsen pension in the middle of nowhere
Nemurin is my favorite onsen pension so far. It is family run and only has a few rooms. Guest are free to use the four private onsens as long and as much as they want. Private onsens are great for people with tattoos or people that don't like bathing with strangers. The price for the stay also includes dinner and breakfast. For dinner, you get all you can eat Japanese beef, a salad buffet and a plate of appetizers. All you can drink for one hour is included as well. Breakfast is rather simple but alright. You can book rooms starting from about 10.000 per night, but during Golden Week or Obon season prices get a little more expensive. As the pension is hard to reach with public transfer I would definitely recommend coming by car.
