Park-like setting, good for families

On a day trip to Hotel Epinard Nasu, I didn't stay, but I enjoyed some of the amenities and the atmosphere. Despite the modern glass and concrete main tower, this hotel feels like a cozy retreat because of its park-like setting. When I visited, the hotel was hosting many families, and throughout the facility you'll see some storybook characters and displays appealing to children. The hotel has an onsen for daytrippers, rentals of electric bicycles and scooters, and a handful of restaurants. The bakery is a big draw here for French bread. The restaurant serves course luncheons. Bring your appetite!
