Classic soba shop, friendly service

This soba shop is a timewarp, furnished with solid wood tables, nicknacks from yesteryear, and old-fashioned soba. We stopped by for lunch at this restaurant on the way between the museums and historic spots in the city. It's convenient and right on the main street, Shinmachi Dori. At first glance, we thought the prices were a bit higher than your average chain soba shop, but we quickly realized the food here is of a higher quality. We had sansai soba and curry nanban soba with generous portions of soba noodles. We were pretty satisfied with our lunch and a shared bottled beer. The servers are friendly and it appears that the shop is open every day.
