Yukemuri fureai no Oka Camping Ground

Cheap and quiet campsite with hot springs

Yet another campsite that goes by a number of different names. The official name is the rather long "Ohtawara City Yukimuri Fureai No Oka Camping ground, more commonly referred to as the much easier to remember: Yuuyuu Cabins and Campsite. The camping area has plush green grass; the softest grass we've camped on to date. It is a really quiet campsite ideal for a group of families as it doesn't seem to be that well known, so its relatively easy to secure a few places together. There is no electricity at this site and the toilets and sinks are quite far from the camping area, but it is very cheap at only 2000 yen (2018) per site. There is an onsen on the grounds, a short walk away. There are better toilets there, as the ones at the camping area are Japanese style. There is a small playground on the site. Lots of bugs for catch and release. There are cabins too which are a little pricey but they have hot spring water in the bathrooms there and they come complete with fridge, air conditioning etc.
