We finally reached the Great Hall—and honestly, it felt unreal. The massive wooden doors looked just like they did in the movies. For a second, it was like we weren’t in Tokyo anymore. It really felt like stepping into another world. Everything we’d seen on screen was right there in front of us. The Birthday Door Moment (That I Missed) One cool thing I found out is that if it’s your birthday, you actually get to help open the Great Hall doors with other birthday guests. I didn’t know that at the time. My birthday was May 17th, and we visited on May 18th, so I assumed I didn’t qualify. Later, I found out that as long as your birthday is in the same month, you still can. So yeah, that was a bit of a missed opportunity. Still, no hard feelings—it was cool just to be there. Inside Hogwarts When the doors opened and we walked in, the place looked exactly like it did in the films. The long house tables, the stone floors, the professors at the front—all of it was there. It wasn’t some cheap version either; the detail was on point. What really caught my attention was the Goblet of Fire. I didn’t expect to see it there, so that was a surprise. And seeing it up close reminded me how much effort went into making this world feel real. Walking through that hall didn’t just feel like a theme park moment—it actually felt like we were students stepping into Hogwarts. No drama, no exaggeration—just a really solid, well-made experience that hit all the right notes.
