When you eat Whole Foods or plant-based ( I deliberately did not say vegan because I hate being confined to labels or become sucked up into group think or polarization) there are some things that become staples in your pantry. In my house old fashion rolled oats, quinoa and chia seeds are always present as the form the backbone of most of our meals. The problem though is that in the Japanese supermarkets you can never find large enough packs( not to mention how ridiculously expensive those tiny packets are when you do find them). This is where online shopping ( m btiined in a previous post) works for me.I purchase a 10 pounds pack of oat meal for under ¥2500 and a little over 4 pounds packet of quinoa for ¥2100. I also noticed that the calbee 800g cereals are waaay cheaper than in stores... ( almost a thousand in Lawson’s and 7-Eleven and less than 800 online). Usually 2 packs of oatmeal and 2 packs of quinoa takes care ofmy family of 4- well 3 for an entire month. That takes in oatmeal breakfast every single day and quinoa almost everyday. Do you prefer larger or smaller packages?
