A Ginger Beer from the UK

I found this Cawston Press ginger beer in a big AEON supermarket and was tempted, then got it when I went another time.

I guess it's a good season for an apple cider style drink, and the sharp spicy ginger taste is appealing to me.

Not to be confused, this isn't really beer. There's no alcohol.

For whatever reason, brewed ginger sodas are called ginger beer.

I'm not sure why, maybe for the same reason that Americans call fresh pressed apple juice apple cider, even though it has no alcohol either.

It's nice but not exactly what I was used to in a ginger beer. I like that there is no added sugar and it's made with pressed apples. There is a bit of apple or ginger (or both) stuff at the bottom, so maybe it's better to gently shake.

The 'dry' ginger taste is great. The bubbles are weak.

The price is quite high - 200 yen a can if I remember correctly.

Maybe it's like a carbonated apple ginger juice, of the variety made with a juicer? It's not as thick as juice.

What I was used to back home was quite bubbly and sweet, a non-syrupy ginger ale but with something more. No apples though.

Now I just want fresh pressed apple juice.
