My School was Attacked by Mothra!

So there I was, just minding my own business walking to the study room at my university.  I glanced out the window to look at the beautiful scenery as I normally do, but holy molino, was I in for a surprise:

Mothra was attacking my school!

Okay, so maybe this little guy wasn't the monstrosity made popular in Japanese television and cinema, but he sure was the biggest moth I'd ever seen before.  Where I come from, a moth is about the size of a small butterfly, not the size of a small bird!

But it makes me realize where the creator of Mothra got his idea.  Who knows, he might have been a student like me who happened to look out the window and see his own over-sized moth.  From that, he said, "Hey, I got an idea..."  After all, what student doesn't fantasize about a giant monster tearing down his school from time to time?

Hitting the books once again as a Ph.D. student in Niigata Prefecture. Although I've lived in Japan many years, life as a student in this country is a first.

Blessed Dad. Lucky Husband. Happy Gaijin (most of the time).

I swear that Japan's wildlife (bugs especially) are somehow like 5 times the size of anywhere else...
