From (mostly) evergreen Australia to Japan's vivid autumns
Coming from Australia, I never thought much about autumn back home. Most of the native landscape there stays the same(ish) year-round, and is dominated by evergreen eucalyptus and acacias. There are places in my home state like the town of Bright or the Yarra Valley where imported maples and oaks turn yellow and red, but overall, the change in season is pretty subtle. It's nothing like here, where autumn packs a very colorful punch.

I think what I like most about autumn here is you don't necessarily have to go anywhere special to enjoy the best of the season. Of course there are plenty of parks and gardens where the seasonal color is amplified because of deliberate planting and maintenance, but you can basically go out anywhere in a public place and get to enjoy the foliage.

Does your home country have a colorful change during the autumn months, or is it fairly muted and not as vivid as here?
