The description
This product is a banana chocolate terrine tart, and it's a limited time dessert offering available from Starbucks stores. It was priced at 580 yen including tax.
The good
I feel like the flavor combination of winter this year has been fruit + chocolate, although most things I've come across have been strawberry and chocolate. This new banana chocolate terrine tart from Starbucks incorporates a different fruit flavor, and it pairs together really nicely. The bottom part is a chocolate dough base, then there's a layer of banana mousse, and the whole thing is topped with banana slices and some caramel powder which adds a nice depth of flavor. Overall I really liked this from both a taste and a texture standpoint and I would happily recommend it to others.
The not so good
This isn't the cheapest dessert out there at 580 yen including tax, but I will say that the quality of it is great, and if this was served up at an independent bakery or cake shop I wouldn't really think twice about that price for a dessert. Also, I know not everyone is a fan of the fruity and chocolatey flavor combination, so if that's you then this should be a hard pass. Overall though, I really enjoyed this, it's fun with tastes and textures, and I think it's worth trying at least once if you have a Starbucks store nearby. Hope you enjoy it if you end up giving it a go!
