The description
This product is a simple cream puff which was purchased from Lawson's Uchi Cafe sweets range. It was priced at 215 yen including tax, and it's a new product.
The good
I thought this product was nice if you prefer your desserts to be on the simple side. It's an outer dough that is a little reminiscent of a crepe in my opinion (it's thinner than what you'd expect from a typical choux cream puff) and the inside cream filling is made with Hokkaido dairy products, so it feels super rich and luxurious – taste wise, it was delicious! You definitely can't complain about the amount of filling, either – the cream puff is absolutely filled to the brim with cream, so you won't be disappointed with any vacant air-filled space like you get with some cream puffs out there.
The not so good
I was surprised by the generosity of the cream filling, and yes, you can think you're getting a good deal – but having it so filled was kind of messy, to be honest. The cream itself is delicious, but it is on the thinner/runnier side, so you've also got to be careful with how you eat it or cut it up. It's extremely easy to end up with cream filling everywhere, so just bear that in mind! Price wise, it feels perhaps just a touch too high for what amounts to a relatively simple dessert, but prices seem to be going up for everything so that might just be a sign of the times. Overall I'd give it 3 stars.
