The description

This product is a limited-time ice cream bar from Haagen Dazs, in a matcha, kuromitsu, and walnut flavor. It was priced at 319 yen including tax and I purchased it from 7-11.

The good

If you like Japanese sweets, this is a great ice cream option to try. The matcha ice cream has a kuromitsu sauce running through it, and the outside chocolate matcha layer is dotted with walnut pieces which add a really nice crunch. I love different textures and flavors when I buy an ice cream, so I was a fan of this. It also feels like an upmarket, fancy ice cream. Instead of just being packaged in plastic, it comes in a box (yes, there's plastic inside it, but that's a story for another day) so you feel like you're getting something a little special.

The not so good

My usual gripe with Haagen Dazs still stands – it's an expensive ice cream. It clocks in at 319 yen including tax, which is streets ahead of other stick ice cream bars at convenience stores. I definitely enjoyed the ice cream, and it did feel like a premium product, but did it give me three times as much satisfaction as any other ice cream bar on the market? I don't think it did. Overall, I'd still say give it a try if you enjoy Japanese inspired sweets and your budget allows for it. I'd give it four stars overall, really the only deduction is the value for money aspect.
