The most/least attractive prefectures?
Have you ever considered the attractiveness of the prefecture you live in Japan? There's a survey done every year which racks and stacks prefectures on those grounds, and Hokkaido has taken out top spot for the last 15 years, apparently.
Naturally, if you're racking and stacking the most attractive prefectures, you've also got the least attractive prefectures, and the bottom 5 on the list for 2023 were Yamaguchi, Gunma, Saitama, Saga, and Ibaraki in absolute last spot.
I find that so hard to swallow as those are prefectures I've absolutely loved -- and if Ibaraki has gems like Hitachi Seaside Park and is *still* seen as the least attractive...well, I don't know what to say!

Saitama is always in the bottom five I think... obviously, I don't get it either! Ibaraki in last spot is an absolute travesty though. They have all types of scenery -rivers, mountains, lakes, SEA (which I sorely miss in Saitama and I think its one of the reasons itself and Gunma rank low) and so so many stunning temples and shrines including one of the oldest and best (Kashima Jingu) and dozens of scenic spots. I'd personally put Osaka at the bottom of the list. XD
