The good
If you're eagerly awaiting the arrival of the newest Minions movie, then St. Marc Cafe's new collaboration range is a nice head start on it. This Apple & Custard Minions Chococro is delicious, and it combines two of my favorite things. I feel like the custard was an excellent choice (Minion yellow approved!) and it also contains apple preserves from Aomori Prefecture. Flavor wise I think that's a match made in heaven, so I've got no complaints with the taste! If you find yourself really enjoying it, you can buy it in a multipack of 5 for 1900 yen, which works out to be 380 yen each as opposed to 420 yen for one on its own.
The not so good
This is more expensive than a standard chococro -- not by a huge amount, but it's noticeable nonetheless. If you're just looking for a sweet treat and you're not swayed hugely by flavor or collaboration cuteness, then I would opt for something else. Overall though, I think this is a delish item, and that applies even if you're not at all into Minions. The combination of custard and apple is really wonderful, and I wish this was a permanent item on their menu. I hope you enjoy it if you do end up giving it a try -- happy eating! :)
