My kids recently had to get their flu and Covid booster shots, and my husband and I typically get them something to take the sting out of it (literally). My son wanted this Minecraft Lego set so I ordered it ahead of time via Amazon Japan using some of my City-Cost gift card money. It's a good sized set -- there are 255 pieces in total, which I feel is a bit of a sweet spot with kids Lego sets. It's big enough that it takes some time to put together, but not so big that it becomes overwhelming and frustrating to construct. The box notes that it's recommended for ages 8 and up, but my son is 7 and constructed this himself with no adult help needed. The instruction book comes with the set and outlines each step clearly and easily with picture illustrations.

This is just my personal opinion, but I'm not the biggest fan of Lego Minecraft sets stylistically because they have that interesting pixelated look to them. Obviously that's just how the video game is, so they're true to that, but I personally feel like there are loads of other Lego collections out there that have more visual appeal. My son is happy with this set though and it has continued to fuel his Minecraft interest! It would be a good gift for Christmas around the corner too if you have a Minecraft lover in your life.
