Grateful for Golden Week

I really do love Golden Week, even if it's a madhouse in a lot of respects for domestic travel. I have mentioned it before, but I feel like it often pushes the idea of a "forced break" which is nice. We have stayed local, and I have managed to get caught up with quite a few projects I wanted to get done, plus have time for leisure activities like reading and crafts that sometimes get put on the backburner when everyday life comes into play. I actually feel rested, which is so nice and something I'm grateful for!

In my home country, we don't really have a long stretch of public holidays like Golden Week. The closest to that is the Easter break (Good Friday and Easter Monday are public holidays in Australia every year), so you end up with a four day weekend if you have a standard, office-type job. But really, it's only two days off work, as opposed to the four national holidays that we have here for GW which can really stretch that break out.

Does your home country have a long stretch of public holidays similar to Golden Week here, or are they scattered and fairly individual?
