Before even trying the taste of this ice cream, I loved how it looked. The vibrant purple color with the cookie pieces on top was such a fun visual, and I think it offers something different from a lot of other ice creams on the market. In terms of the components, this Haagen-Dazs variety consists of sweet potato butter ice cream mixed with a honey sweet potato sauce, topped with a purple sweet potato coating, crunchy butter cookies, and purple sweet potato cookies. There's quite a bit going on with it, but if you appreciate multiple flavors and textures in your ice creams of choice then you should enjoy this one!

At 399 yen including tax, this is the most expensive (at least, I think so!) Haagen-Dazs option I've seen. Typically these single serving tubs are closer to the 350 yen mark, and yes -- this one does have quite a few components to it, so perhaps that's some justification of the cost. Even though I liked this a lot, it's not something I would be purchasing again, and that's really just a reflection of the price point. Still, I'd say that it's a fun one to try at least once if you're a sweet potato fan and you can justify the price. As far as I know it's a Family Mart-limited item (I haven't seen it at other convenience stores) so I would recommend checking Famima first. Happy eating, and enjoy! :)
