As someone who adores all custard flavored desserts, I was excited to try this ice cream sandwich from Häagen-Dazs. It's fairly multi faceted and comes with custard flavored ice cream, caramel chips, and caramel flavored wafers that keep everything together. I loved the flavors and textures, and I also loved that I could see visible vanilla beans in the ice cream -- to me that always makes it feel like a high quality product. True to the product's name, the wafers holding everything together did manage to retain their crispness, and weren't remotely soggy like some ice cream sandwich biscuit portions can be.

I say it every time (and yet I still often buy Häagen-Dazs products), but their ice creams definitely aren't cheap. This ice cream sandwich came in at 319 yen including tax, which I find to be pretty pricey. Eben when I love their products I typically try them once and don't repurchase them, based on that cost factor. Other than the commentary on price, this was a really delicious ice cream, and I would highly recommend it to fans of custard flavored desserts. Taste was a solid 5 out of 5, but would bump the rating down to 4 out of 5 for the price point.
