The description
This product is an almond praline dome chocolate cake, and it's a limited time collab between Lawson's Uchi Cafe range and Godiva. It was 459 yen including tax.
The good
If you like aesthetically pleasing desserts, this new collab between Lawson and Godiva is indulgent and pretty to look at. The dome-shaped chocolate treat contains chocolate cake and mousse, and comes topped with praline almonds and a cute Uchi Cafe x Godiva chocolate piece -- it's quite the photogenic item. All the elements of the dessert complement each other very well. For something that feels quite indulgent, it wasn't a huge calorie bomb -- the whole thing clocks in at 231 calories, which actually felt quite surprising to me.
The not so good
The same critique applies to this product as it did to the doramochi which is also on store shelves at the moment -- it's so expensive for a convenience store dessert. For something that's pushing the 500 yen mark, I'd rather support an independent bakery/patisserie than buy this again. Fun to try, but the price tag ain't worth it. In good faith I could only recommend this if you really want to splurge, or if you're a big Godiva fan. Otherwise you can get much more bang for your buck with other desserts that are just as delicious and satisfying.
