Niigata City ranked second nationwide for ramen dining-out costs

At this time of year, those of us living in Niigata tuck into quite a bit of ramen, or at least it certainly seems that way to me! It's warm, hearty, and pretty reasonably priced, so it probably doesn't come as a surprise that Niigata City ranked second nationwide for ramen dining-out costs for the fourth year running. 

People out here spend an average of 19,073 yen on ramen a year, coming in second place only to Yamagata City's 25,102 yen. I'm not surprised that they took out first place, either, since they get quite a bit of snow and cold winter weather there as well.

Third place went to Utsunomiya City, with a spending amount of 17,211 yen.
