This dictionary was actually a purchase request from my daughter, since she wanted to have an easy reference for English words. She speaks both English and Japanese, but since her schooling is in JP I would say she probably feels like that's her mother tongue! This pocket dictionary is a great option for anyone who wants a lightweight and quick reference point for EN words, with over 35,000 definitions in a format that is easy to carry around. The price isn't bad, although I can't be certain about what the going price of a dictionary usually is ;) This would be great if you're teaching English, too, as a handy resource.

This is a soft cover dictionary, and my preference (just from a resilience perspective) would be a hardcover option to keep it a bit more free of wear and tear. In saying that, the fact that it's softcover means that it's not so heavy, which is a big bonus of the product. Overall, this is a great, compact resource for anyone wanting to brush up on their English language word definitions, and would be great for bilingual kids, English teachers, or anyone just wanting a point of reference for EN definitions. The fact that it's easily available on Amazon JP also meant I didn't have to go scouring bookshops to find one!
