Fun to see a crepe at a convenience store!

First of all, it was so fun to see a crepe at a convenience store! There is no shortage of breads, cakes, and those kinds of desserts, but I honestly don't think I've seen a crepe on offer before -- or maybe I have and I've just forgotten it. Anyway, it was a nice surprise to pop into Family Mart and see something truly new amongst the seasonal offerings. Second, the flavor and amount of filling in this was really good. It has sweet potato pieces, a sweet potato cream, regular whipped cream, and sponge cake slices, so it was certainly quite a bit packed in there. Lastly, for the price I didn't think it was bad, especially in comparison to regular crepe places like Santa Monica crepes in Harajuku.

One of the things I like most about crepes is that they're usually served fresh, with the crepe still delightfully warm. Obviously, this isn't going to be the case with a convenience store product that is refrigerated, so that was a minor let down. You could probably microwave it for a little to get that desired effect, but I don't know how that would go when it has cream in it -- I don't think I'd want the cream to end up warm, too... Other than that, the only major downside is that this is only going to be on shelves for a limited time, would love for crepes to be a regular feature! Perhaps they'll come out with some other seasonal ones in the future.
