The description
This product is the new Crunchy Potato & Thick-Cut Beef with Rich Garlic Pepper burger from McDonalds, and it's part of a World Cup themed release.
The good
McDonalds has a bunch of World Cup inspired menu items on offer right now, including several fun burgers. This one is the "Crunchy Potato & Thick-Cut Beef with Rich Garlic Pepper" option, and before you even dig in to the burger itself, the bun is different! It looks very much like a soccer ball, which seems to be the whole point! ;) It's a pretty hearty burger, too, consisting of a thick beef patty, a potato patty, some garlic pepper sauce, and an aioli sauce. If you don't like salad on your burgers and you're more of a meat and potatoes kinda person, this will be right up your alley.
The not so good
As I mentioned above, this is a great burger option for folks who are anti-salad on burgers. If you prefer a bit of that lightness and freshness, however, this is going to feel pretty heavy and dense. Also, I personally think it's pretty pricey for what it is. Yes, it's definitely filling, and the meat patty for this is thicker than a standard McDonalds beef patty, but there's really not much to it other than the meat, the potato patty, and the sauces. Fun to try once, I'd say, but it's not something I would feel compelled to go back and purchase again.
