Sweet potato is one of the most popular seasonal flavors for autumn (at least, from what I see on store shelves!), and this new Sweet Potato Butter Tart Choco Pie is perfect to satiate any craving you might have for it. Like most choco pies, this has several different components to it. The cake/biscuit part is a simple butter cake, and the inner fillings consist of a sweet potato cream (made with actual Annou sweet potato) and a honey sweet potato sauce. The whole thing is coated with regular milk chocolate for a tasty treat that feels quite balanced. I thought the price was alright, too, at 151 yen including tax.

As is the case for all limited time treats, if you find yourself really enjoying this then you only have a short window of time to get your hands on it. If you have the space to store them and some extra yen in your pocket, you could always stock up on a couple of extras for when the craving strikes. Overall, this is a really tasty choco pie for anyone who likes sweet potato things. It had a balanced feel and didn't seem cloyingly sweet, even with the honey sweet potato sauce. I think the relative neutrality of the butter cake base and regular milk chocolate coating helped this a lot.
