The description
This product is the new white and black vanilla chocolate fudge crispy sandwich from Haagen Dazs. I purchased it at 7-11 but it should be available at other convenience stores and supermarkets too.
The good
This is the latest release in Haagen-Dazs's crispy sandwich range, and it combines two classic ice cream flavors (vanilla and chocolate) for a tasty treat. The inner ice cream is vanilla flavored, and it uses beans from Madagascar for a really delicious flavor. It's lined with a fudgy chocolate sauce that works as a nice contrast to the sweet vanilla. The outer part has both a white wafer and a chocolate wafer, giving a fun two-toned feel, and there's also a vanilla chocolate coating covering the edges of the ice cream. The combo of flavors and textures all works really nicely together!
The not so good
As is the case with Haagen-Dazs products, the price of this is quite high at 351 yen including tax. If you're just looking for a way to get your ice cream fix, then there are absolutely more economical ways to do that. Overall though, this is a satisfying, tasty treat, and I think the classic flavor combination means that it has a broad appeal to most of the population. I got this from 7-11 but I imagine it's available from other convenience store chains (and maybe even supermarkets) as well. Hope that you enjoy it if you do end up giving it a try!
