I only saw this limited-time Haagen Dazs offering at my local supermarket recently, so I think maybe it was a summer stock clear out. It has two gelato flavors in the one tub -- as the name suggests, vanilla and pistachio -- and because it's gelato as opposed to ice cream it has a lighter, more refreshing taste to it. It is fairly pricey in my opinion at 351 yen including tax, but I guess I would pay around that for a couple of gelato scoops at an ice cream store. When I think of it that way, the price point doesn't seem so bad.

Flavor-wise, I don't have much to complain about with this -- I liked the combination and both the pistachio and the vanilla worked well together, very complementary. If you do like the creamier taste of ice cream and not the lighter taste of gelato then this might feel a little lackluster though. I do think the price point also makes it a "one and done" for me -- I don't typically purchase these tubs more than once because of the cost. Overall though, fun to try if you like pistachio and vanilla flavors.
