Cough Drop Flavored Kit Kats - the review!

If you've been living in Japan a while now, you may have come across some food product combinations that make you raise an eyebrow. Corn on pizzas...chocolate mixed with coriander flavor...and now Kit Kat releasing a cough drop flavored variety of the beloved household name treat.

Seriously...cough drop flavor?

When my husband and I saw these at our local 7-11 store, we knew they were a must try - if only for the weird factor. Each pack has three individually wrapped Kit Kat bars - so if you hate one that badly you can always pawn them off to unsuspecting friends...right?

We both agreed that they tasted something like a choc-mint flavored treat - but with a more menthol flavored, medicinal aftertaste. Not as horrible as we were expecting, but not something we would go out of our way to purchase again! Definitely worth it for the novelty value though - and they do legitimately have 2.1% throat lozenge powder in them, so perhaps stockpile them for when the winter lurgies hit? After all, chocolate makes everything better, and now there's a proper medical combination that allows you to sneakily indulge if your throat is sore!
