The description

This product is the Kaldi Coffee Farm food-based fukubukuro. It was sold on a lottery based system (you had to apply in November at their stores) and it was 5000 yen.

The good

This is a great fukubukuro option if you like consumable ones, which have been my go-to choices in recent years. For 5000 yen this comes with a ton of items, and a lovely, sturdy Kaldi branded canvas tote with a zipper – I actually think I'll use the tote a lot. Food wise there is a nice mix of sweet and savory in this bag, including nut snacks, cookies (Walker's shortbread!), some seasonings and oils, pasta, coffee, and tea. I think if you're not picky and you eat most things then this can actually be a really good value bag -- if you added up the retail price of everything it would well exceed the 5000 yen figure that this cost.

The not so good

Obviously one downside is that if you are a pickier eater, you're probably going to find things in this bag that you won't eat. It's always an opportunity to share it with family, friends, neighbors, or co-workers though, and I think these days there are plenty of people who would be super grateful for anything you wouldn't use. Another downside though is that this was a lottery approval system instead of just a free-for-all sale, at least at my nearest Kaldi it was. Overall though, this is a super solid fukubukuro option for folks who appreciate consumables over other types of lucky bags. Definitely somewhere to keep in mind for future years if this looks like an assortment of goodies you'd enjoy and use.
