The description
This product is a chocolate Mont Blanc, and it's a limited time collaboration product from Lawson in conjunction with well-known chocolatiers Godiva. It was priced at 451 yen including tax.
The good
Lawson's Uchi Café sweets range has a few collaboration products with Godiva on their shelves at the moment, and this chocolate Mont Blanc is one of them. I feel like it's a fun release for the autumn season, and it combines chocolate flavors with the trademark Mont Blanc chestnut taste. I feel like the chocolate and chestnut flavors worked really well together for a rich, indulgent feeling dessert. It is a premium priced product at 451 yen including tax, but if it wasn't in convenience store packaging it would be easy to assume it was from an independent bakery or chocolatier -- so that helps to justify the price a little! ;)
The not so good
I mentioned above that this is a premium priced product at 451 yen including tax, and if you took it out of the convenience store packaging it would be easy to assume it was from a stand-alone bakery or chocolatier because of the good quality. The fact of the matter though is that it's made in collaboration with a convenience store, and made in bulk to supply Lawson stores across the country. Because of that the price does feel high (even with justifying the good quality!) so I wouldn't purchase this again based solely on the cost. Worth trying at least once though if you're a fan of chocolate and chestnut flavors. Happy eating!
