The world’s fanciest trash receptacle!

I think one big thing I noticed when I moved here was that in Japan, beauty seems to be found in some of the most random and unassuming ways. For instance, you have things like roadwork barriers decorated like giraffes or even with Hello Kitty’s face, postage stamps with all manner of kawaii characters on them, and even decorated trains and airplanes (I flew on a Pikachu plane on a domestic flight here once!)

I had to laugh the other day when I was out walking my dog and saw from a distance what looked to be a tiny little log cabin. As I got closer though, I realized that the supposed cute little log cabin was in fact a trash receptacle spot where the neighborhood residents put their trash bags!

Well, Japan, once again it’s 10/10 for aesthetic value for you - although the trash receptacle in my street is just a large metal cage, so I am a little envious!
