Along with the sweet potato frappuccino on the seasonal Starbucks menu right now, they've also got this sweet potato cake made with beni haruka and annou imo potatoes. There are quite a few reasons to love it, one of them being that it's a plant based cake! I am really impressed with such a large chain like Starbucks offering plant based options quite regularly, so they get a resounding two thumbs up in that regard. The actual cake itself has a nice, moist texture - to me it was more tart-like than a traditional cake - but I really enjoyed that.

One obvious downside with this is that it's a limited time only offering, so if you find yourself really enjoying it, you only have a short window of time to get your hands on it. I do imagine that Starbucks will probably release something similar around this time next year, but it's never a guarantee that the exact same item will make a comeback. Overall, I really liked this. It has a delicious taste, enjoyable texture, and the fact that it's a plant based dessert really opens it up to a lot more people. Hope you enjoy it if you end up giving it a try -- happy eating! :)
