The description

This product is a Royal caffe mocha crispy sandwich from the Haagen Dazs brand. It's a limited time offering and I purchased it from 7-11 for 351 yen including tax.

The good

I feel like ice cream sandwiches have a bit of a reputation as a kid's sweet treat, but this new option from Haagen-Dazs is decidedly adult in nature. The cafe mocha ice cream has liqueur mixed in with it, plus a mocha sauce. There's also a white chocolate coating, and then the whole thing is held together by cafe mocha flavored wafers. Everything works really well together for what feels like an indulgent treat. It is pricier than most other convenience store ice creams at 351 yen including tax, but I will say that it does feel like a premium product, right down to the cardboard box packaging.

The not so good

One big downside is the price, and while I don't think it's absurdly expensive since it's a premium product, I do think it will deter people from trying it based on the cost alone. Also, since it contains liqueur, it means that many people won't be able to consume it (e.g. pregnant women, halal eaters). Overall though, this was a win for me since it incorporated some of my favorite flavors (coffee and white chocolate). I'd recommend it to anyone out there who wants a nostalgic childhood treat but fancied up into an adult way. Hope you enjoy it if you do end up giving it a try!
