Reasons I like visiting the cinema more in Japan than my home country

I saw a blog today from BigFamJapan about a cinema visit to see Zootopia 2, and it got me thinking about why I prefer visiting the cinema here in Japan than in my home country.

One of the biggest ones is cleanliness. I feel like Japan overall is cleaner than most countries (if not all countries) I've visited or lived in, and that extends to the condition of their movie theaters. I typically see people cleaning up after themselves, and there won't be things like popcorn littering the floor once the screening is done, like there is where I'm from.

On that note of general respect, I feel like audiences here are a lot more considerate, too. I don't notice things like mobile phones going off or people chit chatting throughout the movie.

A couple of my local theaters are also really good about fun events and such at their theaters, like special screenings. In late October, they were showing Princess Mononoke as a 4K digital remaster, and as a family of Ghibli fans it was cool to experience that! BigFamJapan also touched on the affordability aspect, and it's much cheaper here to see a movie than in my home country.

Japan's movie theaters are awesome! Viewers contain their reactions, the theaters are clean, and the concessions offer bevvies! The idea of watching a beer with your flick is novel in my native Canada.
