I have been really impressed over recent years with Starbucks' commitment to introducing more and more plant-based options on their menu, and that continues with this sugar donut that's available at their stores right now. It's great if you're looking for a sweet treat that doesn't need a whole heap of bells and whistles -- this is just a yummy, chewy donut with a sugary glazed coating. I think that oftentimes, simple things are the best, and don't need to be overcomplicated with extra toppings or fillings, and that was the case with this item. As far as Starbucks desserts go, the price for this felt pretty reasonable at 290 yen including tax, so I have no real complaints there.

As I mentioned above in the positive features section, this is a fairly simple donut -- just the dough and a sugary glazed coating. While that's great for some folks, if you do prefer your donuts of choice to have more toppings/fillings, then this one might feel a little bit minimalist and lackluster to you. Overall though, I thought it was a solidly tasty option, and the fact that it's a plant based choice is a great thing -- two thumbs up for Starbucks being inclusive to anyone who is consuming a plant-based diet.
