Roads are turning into snow tunnels!

Many of the roads in my local area are equipped with a sprinkler system, so even in times of heavy snow they're relatively clear -- the snow melts away with the ground water pumped out, and it's easy enough to drive around.

Not every road is like that, though, and some roads still have to be ploughed for them to be serviceable to drive on. Out here right now, those kinds of roads look like this!

The first thing it makes me think is that I'm so grateful for the workers that get out and plough the snow. The second thing, though, is how crazy this year's snow has been. A lot of roads are beginning to resemble snow tunnels out here, and with more snow on the forecast later this week, that's likely to become even more so.
