Kids snow boot shopping on Amazon Japan
It recently reached the time of year when we had to start thinking about new snow boots for our children. There are usually plenty of options at our local Aeon or at Nishimatsuya, but we've been reluctant to do a lot of in-person shopping this year. I turned to Amazon to see what options they had for kids snow boots (spoiler alert: they have a gazillion of them), and overall I've been pretty happy with the purchases so far. If you're in a snowy area of Japan and need to grab some boots for your little ones - but want to avoid in-person shopping as much as possible - here are the ones I picked out.

These kids snow boots from Amazon Japan have already been receiving a workout!
For my 5 year old daughter: these pink boots
My daughter is at the age where she's always excited by pink-colored accessories, so these were an immediate hit with her. They also have a cute metallic snowflake print on them, which was another win. From a functionality perspective I liked these ones a lot - you can open them up on the sides and they fasten with velcro, so you've got a bit more leeway with sizing them to fit your child's calves. The grip on them is also really good - I'm happy with them for the price. They also come in purple and black for those who may not necessarily be fans of bright pink.
For my 3 year old son: these black boots
These were a little cheaper when I bought them around a month ago (around 3000 yen instead of the 4000 yen they're currently retailing at), and my son likes them a lot. One thing I wish I'd thought about though is the ease (or lack thereof) of getting them on and off. They don't have a velcro closure like my daughter's boots; instead they have an elasticated toggle that you can use to tighten the opening to ensure you're not ending up with snow inside your shoe. However, there's not a lot of give when it then comes to loosening them to take them off - in hindsight I probably should have gone with a velcro closure for my son's boots, too. If your little one has thicker legs (as a lot of toddlers do!) then you might want to opt for something else. Aside from that they're holding up well so far, and they'll get us through the season - but I do think I'd be picking something different for the price I paid next time.
