Devil birds

My family back home always seems so concerned for my safety here in land locked Gunma. Yesterday we even had a typhoon come through and my mom of course needed to make sure I was alive. While, yes, a bit damp and a few things thrown about by the wind, typhoons here never seem as bad as back home in Texas/Louisiana. Typhoons, most earthquakes, tsunami, most volcanic eruptions don't phase this part of Japan. I'm not afraid of any of them. Add in that Japan has such a low level of violent crime. I feel completely safe. What I am afraid of,  though, are the crows. Devil birds photo I have had fewer things stolen in Japan and less things destroyed than by crows attacking the stuff in my bicycle basket. One even cracked open a bottle of coffee just to terrorize me. They are huge, territorial and just plain bullies. Beware of the birds.

Yes! Why do they seem like 4 times the size of a normal crow here?! It’s like birds on steroids or something!

@genkidesu right? This one bird was heavy enough to knock over my bike. I'm used to little cackling ravens. These things are scary
