Frozen custard pie

I absolutely love custard and I freaking love pie. Pie is just not something you often see it in Japan. Premade frozen pies are even less so. But the grocery stores that sell top value brand items have had a nice little selection of pies recently. My store had an apple pie and a custard pie because I love custard I got this one.

The package said you could microwave it or put it in the toaster oven to heat it up but I decided to stick it in my non-fryer. The non-fryer is basically a tiny oven anyway. I heated it up until it started to brown a little. Unfortunately because the pie is so thick it wasn’t able to heat in the middle so I stuck it in the microwave for a few seconds to heat the inside. The non-fryer basically made the outside super crispy.

And then microwaving it made sure the inside was nice and gooey.

Oh was this thing so good! The custard was really flavorful and had a nice texture to it plus little bit of Apple. The Apple helped with both the texture and the flavor. The crust was nice and flaky. This pie is a 10 out of 10. I realize Thanksgiving and Christmas are now over but I really hope this pie is around next year because everybody’s getting their own individual pies without me having to bake a single thing.
