Swim! The carp streamers at the community center

The flying carp are everywhere, and this year, as my son is now old enough to take notice he points them out. He loves them. Which is great because that is exactly what they are for, celebrating children, boys in particular, on May 5th. 

We came across a table at the entrance to the local community center the first day it was out.

My son was super excited to draw so I let him at it. 

He even enjoyed gluing the triangular scales down. 

A total masterpiece, right?

It'll get hung up with all the other masterpieces until Children's day.

There are all kinds of carp streamers waving and wiggling around Japan right now. It is cute to have some that children have decorated.
