The description
This is a summer special of the taiyaki brach Gin no An. It is a cold croissant taiyaki where the outside has a chocolate taste and the inside is filled with a choco mint cream.
The good
If you like the normal taiyaki, croissant taiyaki is a special adventure for you. As a choco-mint-lover, I had to try this summer special version. I enjoyed the taste! The outside is quite crunchy and brings in chocolate flavor. The whipped cream inside has a mint flavor with small chocolate pieces. I was surprised about the amount of cream inside, which is quite a lot. Definitely a nice refreshing snack during summer time which is also not too expensive at 250 yen. Remind to keep it inside the fridge at home if you are not eating it right away.
The not so good
There is not much not to like about this croissant taiyaki - mainly only that I wish that a choco mint version wouldn't only be a season special and they would have it in their regular menu. However, I am also always looking forward to new coming flavors. So if you want to get it, you have to have the right timing. Only advice: the outside of croissant taiyaki can be quite sticky. So, it is better to try avoiding touching it with your hands. Use the paper you get it inside for holding it while eating.
