Scholarship Offered to High School Students

A high school scholarship is offered to students who meet all of the following conditions: Their guardians must be residents of Yokohama, students should be enrolled in high school, have good behavior, have achieved high academic results (Last year’s grade point average for all subjects should be over 3.7), and have difficulties paying for tuition. *High school could be within/ out of Yokohama City/ public or private.

Limit: Approx. 850 people *Chosen by screening

Amount: 5,000 yen a month (You are not required to repay the money.)

To Apply: Submit an application form to your high school. Application forms are available from each ward office, Koho Sodan Kakari, your high school or download from the Board of Education (Kyoiku Iinkai) website between mid-March and the end of April.
