This is a free consultation service by telephone, email, or in person. You can discuss various matters in English, Chinese or Spanish. We will protect your privacy. On certain matters, we can also introduce you to specific institutions.

Monday through Friday: 10:00-11:30 and 12:30-16:30 *except holidays

2nd Saturdays: 10:00-12:30 (English and Chinese)

■Free Consultation by VISA Specialist

Free consultation regarding residency and immigration procedures by Gyoseishoshi lawyer (administrative scrivener) every month.

Date&Time: basically, the first Thursday of each month; 13:00-16:00 (45 min. per consultation) (upcoming schedule: Jan. 17 and Feb. 7)

Languages: English, Chinese, Spanish, and Japanese (an interpreter will assist as needed.)

Fee: Free (Interpretation is also free of charge)

■Consultation on Education for Foreign Residents

Free consultation for guardians of non-Japanese students. Any inquiries regarding the Japanese school system, education, preparation for entrance exams, and school life in general may be discussed. People who are involved in supporting foreign citizens can also use this service.

Date&Time: 2nd and 4th Saturday: 10:00-12:30

Languages: English, Chinese, Spanish, and Japanese (an interpreter will assist as needed.)

Fee: Free (Interpretation is also free of charge)

■Translation Service

English translation service for some of the documents issued by the City of Yokohama is available. The types of documents are as follows:

(1) Family Register (Koseki Tohon and Koseki Shohon) *New type which is horizontally written, converted to data

(2) Juminhyo (Resident Certificate) issued by Yokohama. *Juminhyo that have My Number printed on them cannot be accepted. In addition to the translations, certificates of translation can be attached upon request (with fee).

Fee: 3,000~3,500 yen per document and 300 yen per certificate of translation. If you need two or more copies of the same translation, 300 yen for one additional copy.
