I thought about going to the Expo 2025 in Osaka, but the more I heard from friends and colleagues, the less I wanted to go. Many said the pavilion reservation system was complicated. However, I still had a little bit of FOMO, so I looked out for related products. World KANPAI Beer was a project at the Expo site. For two months, Suntory served a base beer and asked for customers' feedback. The result is a beer brewed with the participation of people from 93 countries. Suntory launched the beer in September 2025.

World KANPAI Beer is the result of an interesting customer participation project. I'm glad I could try it. On the label, you'll see the comments of customers at Suntory's beer stand. Suntory adjusted the hops, malt, and bitterness based on the questionnaire results. The beer looks like a typical Japanese mass-produced beer. It's golden, has a nice head of foam, and smells bready and malty. You get some hoppy, citrusy flavour. However, the beer is not ground-breaking. I wouldn't buy a six-pack of this.
